SkinSwap has no fixed fee. When you sell a skin to its bot, the site pays 75–90% of market value, so on a $100 skin $10–25 disappears from the offer. Withdrawal is possible in ten ways: PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, bank transfer and five cryptocurrencies, with up to one week allowed by the terms. Enter a SkinSwap promo code on the Claim Free Item button and the site promises a free item worth up to $20 once you have traded $100.

How we checked this site1 min read

We checked skinswap.com on 29 Sep 2026 from an IP address in Georgia (the country), signing in through Steam. We went through the terms of service (ToS), the refund policy, the affiliate program, the China page, the giveaways, the code entry dialog and the Trustpilot reviews. On 1 Oct 2026 we also entered our code on a fresh test account and opened the support chat. We made no deposit, sale or withdrawal; marketplaces have no support score.

The short versionour score
What works
  • Ten withdrawal methods: fiat and crypto
  • Free item up to $50 by tier, up to 20% at $100
  • Company in the Virginia state registry
What does not
  • No fixed rate: a 75–90% payout, 10–25% withheld
  • Payout up to a week per ToS, instant payout not promised
  • KYC threshold, minimum offer and withdrawal fee not named

SkinSwap suits those who care more about getting a skin out to a wallet, a bank or crypto (10 methods) than about getting the maximum. For expensive skins, compare the offer with other platforms: 10–25% on $1,000 is $100–250.

SkinSwap Fees: A 75–90% Payout Instead of a Rate

Fees2.0Payouts3.5

The site does not name an explicit rate for selling to the bot. It prices a skin as the real-time average of “hundreds” of outside sources and pays 75–90% of that price. The 10–25% gap is the price of the deal and it is built into the offer: a skin with a $100 market price will be valued by the bot at $75–90. We did not find a minimum offer amount.

Downside

these numbers do not fit the stated payout. The site describes a 10–25% deduction, the aggregator about 45%. If buyers pay 27.86% below market on average while the bot pays sellers 75–90% of market, the site is left with no margin: the numbers describe different things or are out of date, and neither SkinSwap nor csgoskins.gg explains it. We do not add them together or pick one, and we rely on the description on the site.

The fee here is not a line on a receipt but the gap between the market and the offer, so platforms are best compared by money in hand. The China figures come from the site itself and cannot be verified independently, so it makes sense to check the price of the skin you want against Youpin or Buff163 directly.

What third-party sources say. The aggregator csgoskins.gg lists a seller fee of about 45% for SkinSwap and an average discount of 27.86% to the market price. This is third-party data, we have not seen the method behind it, and the figures do not appear on the site itself.

There is one benchmark: the offer on your own skin, compared with the market price before you confirm.

According to Trustpilot’s automatic summary of 814 reviews, complaints include hidden fees and a poor exchange rate (29 Sep 2026). We report this as a direction of complaints, not as a rule of the site.

SkinSwap Withdrawal and Payouts: Ten Methods, No Guaranteed Speed

Payouts3.5

Ten withdrawal methods are available: PayPal, Venmo (mostly for the US), Cash App, bank transfer via Stripe, BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT and USDC (ERC-20), and SolCard. We found neither a withdrawal fee nor a minimum amount; the result only shows on an account.

Our take

under the ToS, the company may ask any user to confirm their identity at any time, while our notes describe KYC (identity document verification) as mandatory above an amount the site does not name. The two wordings do not match, and there is no way to learn in advance at what amount the check will trigger.

Downside

withdrawal is limited by an unknown KYC threshold and a one-week ceiling in the ToS. If you need the money on the day you sell, it makes sense to verify first and test the timing with a small amount.

Read the full analysis1 min read · 1 part

The payout time is described inconsistently. Our notes include a line that money usually arrives instantly, but we did not record the page of the site where this is stated. The ToS (section 28) says something else: “Payout within 1 week.” We treat the rules as the ceiling and consider an instant payout possible but not promised.

Refunds

The refund policy was updated on 05 Apr 2026. The general rule: “All sales are final and no refund will be issued.” The exceptions are:

  • a marketplace purchase fails because of the seller: full refund to the SkinSwap balance;
  • the buyer declines the trade: refund minus the service fee;
  • a refund to the original payment method: at SkinSwap’s discretion;
  • provider fees (Stripe, crypto) are not refunded.

By default a refund goes to the site balance, and to the original payment method only at SkinSwap’s discretion, so what you bought with money will not always come back as money.

Withdrawal questions

How fast does the money arrive?

Our notes mention an instant payout, but the ToS states up to one week. It is sensible to plan for the worst case and check the real speed with a small withdrawal.

SkinSwap Trade Hold

If a skin is under a trade hold (a temporary Steam restriction on trading a new item), the site warns you before you accept the offer. We found no other hold conditions for buying and selling.

You will see the hold in advance, but the waiting period and the payment order for such an item do not follow from what we found. For a freshly received skin, this is worth clarifying in the offer.

SkinSwap Promo Code and Referral Code: Claim Free Item Tiers

Promo code & bonus3.5

SkinSwap promo codes are affiliate codes: any user creates their own. If you have no code, the site suggests a default one in the dialog; we do not name it. In practice a promo code and a referral code are the same thing here. On 1 Oct 2026 we entered our code cs2check on a fresh test account and the site accepted it. The partner describes a free skin worth up to $50, but the terms only show after sign-up through Steam; we have not measured what is credited.

Promo code & bonus3.5
Trading volumeFree item
$10up to $1
$50up to $7.50
$100up to $20
$250up to $50

The bonus share is 10% at $10, 15% at $50, and 20% at both $100 and $250. The words “up to” matter: this is a ceiling, not a guarantee, and the item will fall within that amount. We did not check which operations count as trading volume. Judging by the dialog, the tiers do not depend on the code; according to third-party promo reviews (not confirmed), a fee discount may also exist, but we did not find one on the site itself.

Our code cs2check was accepted on 1 Oct 2026; what it credits we did not measure.

Downside

the marketing materials of the affiliate page mention a $5 bonus on the first trade. We did not find it in the product itself: there the tiers start at $1 for $10 of trading. Count on the tiers and leave the $5 out of your calculation.

What we checked in the account (1 Oct 2026). The offer is +40% on a deposit plus one free case. There is no wagering requirement in the usual sense: the money goes to the Store Balance and is used by buying items in the store, where prices were about 10–14% above Steam in the cases we looked at, and an instant sale of our skins was offered at about 60% of their value, against the 75–90% the site states. The free case pays between $0.01 and $150. Limits on instant deposits and withdrawals depend on KYC level and deposit volume. Package offers expire after 12–24 hours; skins on the site have no time limit. Bonuses for skin deposits and free-case wins become available for withdrawal only after Steam’s 7-day Trade Protection. We did not pay, so none of this is a measured payout.

The mechanics: on the trade page, press the red Claim Free Item button, enter the code and confirm. The bonus then grows with trading volume, in tiers (steps):

Affiliate program. The rate is 1% of the trades, sales and deposits of referred users, fixed and lifetime, with no tiers and no minimum payout. It accrues instantly, but only as SkinSwap credit: it cannot be withdrawn as money. We found no separate program for streamers and bloggers.

Giveaways. The free-cs-skins page runs a daily giveaway (on 29 Sep 2026: a Music Kit, about $13.37), a weekly one (Driver Gloves, about $89.43) and a monthly one (Huntsman Knife, about $241.35). Entry works through tickets earned for tasks, and Steam sign-in is required. This is a lottery, not a way to earn.

Promo code questions

Does the code give a fee discount?

We found no confirmed discount. What the site itself confirms is a free item by tier, from $1 to $50, capped by the words “up to”.

From our test account, 1 Oct 2026
Welcome formAfter Steam sign-in: pick CS2 or Rust, enter an e-mail and a Steam trade link, and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Tools for Traders

Only the following are confirmed: real-time pricing from hundreds of sources, three modes (bot, P2P, China) and a separate address, [email protected], for large clients. We have no data on float filters, patterns, price history or an API, so we do not score this criterion.

That does not mean the tools do not exist: we did not check them. If float or patterns matter to you, check them on an account before depositing.

Is SkinSwap Legit? Company, Reviews and Safety

Trust4.0

Short answer: we found nothing that points to a scam. The operator is a registered company and Trustpilot shows 4.3 from 2,307 reviews. Is SkinSwap safe? We found no public incidents, but the exchange price and payout time still need checking on your own deal.

Trust4.0

Company. DES Labs, LLC is registered in Virginia, USA (ID 11388988, address in Glen Allen), and the record is in the state registry. The ToS names Stripe and Kinguin as providers, and PayPal and Cash App are among the payment methods. The founding year, 2021, comes from csgoskins.gg and we did not find it on the site; the same page carries a “trustworthy” verdict, but that is the aggregator’s opinion, not a check.

License. This is a marketplace, not gambling: we found no gambling modes and the ToS does not classify the platform as gambling, so the absence of a gambling license is not a downside.

Reviews. On Trustpilot SkinSwap has 4.3 from 2,307 reviews on 1 Oct 2026 (the star split and the figures below are from 29 Sep 2026): 78.1% five-star and 12.8% one-star, with 876 reviews left in the last 12 months. The profile is claimed by the company, which replied to 149 of 150 negative reviews, on average within 2.75 days. According to Trustpilot’s automatic summary, reviewers praise quick purchases, security, competitive prices and a clean interface; complaints are hidden fees, a poor exchange rate, failed trades and a temporary trade credit instead of the items selected.

What recent reviews say. We read the 20 most recent English-language Trustpilot reviews, written from 23 to 29 Sep 2026. The overall star picture we compare against covers reviews in all languages, while the sample is taken from English reviews sorted by recency. The sample is small: it shows mood, not statistics. The stars in it: 15 reviews at 5★ (75%), 2 at 4★, 2 at 2★, 1 at 1★ (5%), so one-star reviews are noticeably rarer than in the overall picture (12.8%). What repeats:

  • fast trades are praised by eight authors, and support by five, one of whom writes about replies in under 5 minutes;
  • three write about a failed trade or a payment problem: two report that the situation was explained to them or the money was returned, the third that one trade “didn’t go through”;
  • two authors argue about the bonus: one received an item far cheaper than promised, the other says a $250 trade was not counted toward the top tier; both are unhappy with support’s answer, and one called the situation “the bonuses are a lie”;
  • one author writes that prices on the site rose by 20 cents at payment and he had to pay $1.35 more;
  • the sample has no payout delays or KYC requests; there is a single scam accusation, from the bonus dispute.

We did not verify the reviews, and Trustpilot marks 14 of the 20 as collected on the company’s invitation. We take no rules, fees or limits from reviews; the tier dispute only reminds you to find out the volume conditions before a trade.

Support. On 1 Oct 2026 we opened the live chat to ask how to withdraw a sale. It greeted us with quick-reply buttons and, after we tapped Deposits, an AI agent described the deposit methods (cards, Cash App, crypto); our withdrawal question was not answered. Marketplaces have no support score, so this does not affect the rating.

Incidents. We found no lawsuits, hacks or mass complaints about lost funds, either in search or in Steam discussions. That is not a guarantee that none exist.

Legitimacy questions

Is SkinSwap legal?

The legal entity is registered in Virginia and the record is public. A gambling license is not needed because the site trades skins. How the law of your country treats such deals, we do not assess, and it is worth checking yourself.

Who Cannot Use SkinSwap

We found no list of banned countries in the ToS: users are responsible for complying with local law. From an IP address in Georgia (the country) the site opened and Steam sign-in worked.

Age. The ToS sets the minimum age at 13, and “effectively 18+” where the law requires it. The two wordings do not match, and which one applies to you is decided by local law. We write for readers 18+.

SkinSwap Pros and Cons

3.3out of 5
  • Fees2.0
  • Payouts3.5
  • Trust4.0
  • Promo code & bonus3.5

Fees – 2.0. There is no fixed rate: 10–25% is withheld from the market price (by the rubric, from 3 points down to 1), plus complaints about hidden fees in Trustpilot’s summary. The csgoskins.gg figures are not part of the score.

Payouts – 3.5. Ten methods, fiat and crypto, but a one-week ceiling in the ToS, an unknown KYC threshold and an undisclosed withdrawal fee.

Trust – 4.0. An open legal entity, Trustpilot 4.3 from 2,307 reviews, and no public incidents found. The score is held back by the age contradiction and complaints about the exchange price.

Promo codes – 3.5. A bonus of up to 20% of trading volume, but as an item, with a volume condition and an “up to” ceiling. Our code cs2check was accepted on 1 Oct 2026; there is no wagering in the usual sense, but the bonus goes to the Store Balance, where prices carry a margin, and bonuses on skin deposits wait for the 7-day Trade Protection, so it stops at 3.5.

SkinSwap suits those who care more about getting a skin out to a wallet, a bank or crypto (10 methods) than about getting the maximum. For expensive skins, compare the offer with other platforms: 10–25% on $1,000 is $100–250.

Is there a SkinSwap referral code or affiliate code? Yes. Any user can create a code; the affiliate rate is 1% of referred users’ trades, sales and deposits, paid as SkinSwap credit that cannot be withdrawn as money.

Is SkinSwap legit and safe? The company is in the Virginia registry, Trustpilot shows 4.3 from 2,307 reviews, and we found no public incidents. The exchange price and payout time still need checking on your own deal.

How do I sell skins on SkinSwap and what are the fees? There is no explicit rate: a sale to the bot is paid at 75–90% of market value, so $10–25 is withheld on $100. The aggregator csgoskins.gg gives other figures (seller fee about 45%) but does not substantiate them.

How long does a SkinSwap withdrawal take? Up to a week per the ToS; the site does not describe instant payout as a guarantee. If you need the money by a certain date, plan for the worst case.

Do I need KYC? Yes, above a threshold the site does not name. Under the ToS a check can be requested from any user at any time, so keep your documents at hand.
